Possession, Ownership 的(de) Grammar
的(de) is placed after the “owner” noun or noun phrase. It is similar to apostrophe-“s” in English (‘s).
Possession, ownership 的(de) sentence structure:
- The owner + 的 + noun
For example,
他的朋友 (tā de péngyǒu) his friend.
他的爷爷奶奶 (tā de yéyé nǎinai) his grandpa and grandma.
医生的名字 (yīshēng de míngzì) the doctor’s name.
他们的房子(tāmen de fángzi) their house.
美国的自由女神 (měiguó de zìyóu nǚshén) America’s Statue of Liberty.
他的钱 (tā de qián) his money.
